It was a busy Sunday fun day, from the blessing of candles and blessing of throats to the Super Bowl Chili Cookoff, and Teen Mission Raffle.
We had 26 entries this year and a ton of additional food prepared and donated. That, and the 80 volunteers who brought food, helped with table setup, food setup, drink stations, photography, electrical hookups, and cleanup, made for a great event.
Here are the winners of the coveted wooden spoon (and bragging rights) from the 21st Annual Mother Teresa Parish Super Bowl Chili Cookoff:
Traditional Chili 1. Argelia Goodner 2. Victor Heltemes 3. Chalker Family
Chicken/Turkey Chili 1. Janice O'Brien 2. Tom Pulikal 3. Wes Goodner
Vegetarian Chili 1. Diana Hosterman 2. Veera Mathias
Mac n Cheese 1. Teresa Sonal 2. William McGowan 3. Valerie De La Rosa
Raffle for Teen Mission Trip
Scrubbing, painting, and listening to folks in need makes “love your neighbor“ come to life. The summer mission trip is a super opportunity to have these experiences.
Our Mother Teresa teens and chaperones are preparing for this year’s trip to Morganton in July. The trip costs about $600 per person, but Sunday’s raffle during the chili cookoff brought in over $500.
The three winning tickets belong to Emmaline Schano, Alexander Schano, and JoAnn Raymer, congratulations. Pray for our teen families, and if you would like to donate to support the Mission Trip, you may contribute through our WeShare page.
