Thanks to everyone for supporting the Durham Community Food Pantry food drive last weekend. We filled the truck with 1,743 pounds of food and supplies and donated $4,792 in the basket and online through WeShare.
Sue Williams, DCFP program director, and Harold Davies, warehouse manager, appreciate your generous donations.
They will be put to great use in assisting our neighbors in dealing with food shortages and food insecurity issues.
DCFP, a Catholic Charities food pantry, recognizes the Mother Teresa community as one of its most supportive and generous parish partners. The pantry currently serves more than 500 families every week in an ever more challenging financial environment.
Additional thanks to the many volunteers who helped unload cars, collect and sort donations, and load the truck. It was great seeing repeat volunteers, meeting new ones, and working together. And thanks, as always, to Angela and Michelle for their support.
