Mother Teresa Parish will again participate in the upcoming Habitat for Humanity build. Habitat Wake purchased a large tract of land in southeast Raleigh near Old Poole Road and will essentially build out a subdivision of Habitat Homes over the long term.
Mother Teresa and St. Michael parishes will be jointly responsible for two 3-day weekends (Thursday to Saturday) with 15 volunteers and serving lunches for 25 to 30 volunteers per day for our assigned home.
We expect to be building two weekends in March, where we have first sign-up priority, plus a joint Cary Coalition Church partners wall-building day in late February, for a total of seven days. Additional volunteer opportunities might be available on the other ten build weeks, primarily staffed by our church partners if they have openings they can't fill.
Watch for more details on our plans, registration links, and lunch sign-ups during the next several weeks. Volunteer registration will open as Habitat assigns specific homes to sponsor groups and coalitions.
Thank you for your tremendous support during last year's build. We had a great turnout with continued gratitude, compliments, and recognition from the staff at Habitat Wake. We look forward to seeing everyone during this year's continuation of our activities with Habitat.
