Join the Respect Life Committee to pray for loved ones no longer fully practicing the Catholic faith. We’ll meet on Tuesday, February 11, at 4:45 p.m. to pray to St. Monica, the patron saint of wayward children.
St. Monica prayed unceasingly for the conversion of her son, who eventually returned to the church and became St. Augustine. We’d love you to pray to St. Monica with us.
The prayer gathering will last about 30 minutes. If you plan to attend, RSVP to Ellen Kunkel, so we have enough handouts. If you can’t attend but want your loved ones to be included in our prayers, please email their names to Ellen.
Please join us in this daily prayer:
Blessed Monica, mother of St. Augustine, we give thanks to our Father in Heaven who looked with mercy upon your tears over your wayward son. His conversion and heroic sanctification were the fruit of your prayers.
Dear St. Monica, we now ask you to pray with us for all those loved ones that have wandered away from God and to add your prayers to those of all parents who are worried about their children and grandchildren.
Pray also for us that, following your example, we may, in the company of our loved ones, one day enjoy the eternal vision of our Father in Heaven. Amen.
Animated by hope and grounded in faith, we rest secure in the knowledge that, in the words of St. Monica, “Nothing is far from God.”
