Our sister parish in Uganda, St. Matia Mulumba, has reaped the first harvest from its new 15-acre maize garden. The maize will be milled into flour and also used as animal feed. The parish will use the maize flour to make porridge for their school lunch program. For some students, this is their only hot meal for the day.
Generous Mother Teresa parishioners have graciously funded both projects.
"This is another celebrated ‘manna from heaven’ project, continuing to show the width and depth of your friendship with our parish community,” said Father Charles Lugenda, St. Matia pastor.
“We are indeed glad. This project will definitely play a pivotal role in our school lunch program as it will diminish the distinction between the poor and rich learners."
It's heartwarming to see the impact we have made and continue to make in the lives of our Ugandan brothers and sisters. Thank you for all your time, prayers, and support.
