Encourage our parish's young people to get involved and be "the hands, feet, eyes, ears, and mouth" of our faith. Join us for a Teen Social on Saturday, February 8, after 4:30 p.m. Mass to learn more about our Teen Family Program and Catholic Work Camp Mission Trip.
We're blessed with gifts of time, talent, and treasure. The gift of your time is unique because you are the only one who can give it. Your gift of talent is a special gift only you can give. Remember the words of St. Francis of Assisi, "It is in giving that we receive."
Each year, our teens and their families enjoy participating in the Catholic Heart Work Camp, whose motto is "Love, Serve, and Connect." The camp's mission is to share the love of Christ as we serve the neglected, brokenhearted, and marginalized in any way needed.
Equally, to inspire participants to live as disciples of Christ through serving others as a way of life and to foster the catholic faith of each participant through the sacraments, prayer, and involvement in social service.
The work camp is a wonderful opportunity for young adults to actively participate and fulfill this mission by serving the community's needs. They build authentic connections and friendships with fellow Catholic students and have a lot of fun while doing it.
My son, Jayson, never imagined that playing kickball, teaching how to play spikeball, and running relay races with young kids at the Boys & Girls Club in Knoxville would allow him to share his faith. Or planting flowers and painting a home's exterior would help lift the spirit of a lonely, widowed mother.
