Our first (yes, another first) yard sale at our new church home was a tremendous success. We collected $7,702.73 for the parish picnic and other social events. We’re now on the map as the church that knows how to hold huge yard sale.
This wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for our community pulling together to get the yard sale ready. We all had a common goal, which united everyone from the young to the seniors.
Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated items, the hundreds of volunteers who helped set up and run the yard sale, and most especially to everyone who bought something.
If you were a first-time volunteer, we hope it was a wonderful community-building experience and that you consider returning next year. Now, many of us can say hello to each other by name.
We’re very grateful to Chick-fil-A at Parkside Town Commons for providing us with three platters of chocolate chip cookies on Saturday. And we are very thankful to the Durham Rescue Mission group for bringing two trucks to take away all of the yard sale leftovers. It made the transition to return the narthex to a spotless place and ready for the 4:30 Mass painless.
Thank you again for all you do to make Mother Teresa a warm and friendly parish in western Cary. If you have any comments, suggestions, or feedback on how we can improve the next one, please share.
