Dr. Brian Klausner will present a thought-provoking, frank, and bold discussion on the growing chronic homelessness crisis in America that is paralyzing and polarizing our communities as we hemorrhage taxpayer dollars.
The Newman Club is sponsoring the event. Admission (at the door) is $4. Please register below. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Through incredible stories of resilience and heartbreaking accounts of childhood trauma and its long-term effect into adulthood, Dr. Klausner will show the science behind reflexive bias and dehumanization, challenging us to become a more humane and efficient society by better living up to commonly shared values that should unite us, not divide us.
"To be inhumane is one thing. To be inefficient is another. With our approach to chronic homelessness in America, we are both," comments Dr. Klausner. "This isn't a political statement or a social commentary. It's more of a diagnosis …. one that I have missed for years."
Dr. Klausner's book "In the Gaps: Better Understanding the Expensive Human Suffering of Chronic Homelessness" is Amazon's top new public health release. The reviewers called it "… a thought-provoking dive into how we can collectively shift our culture."
There will be light refreshments and a 50/50 Raffle after the presentation.
