With heavy hearts and great sadness, we mourn the loss of Nancy Ann (Worstell) Walsh, wife of Deacon Mike Walsh, who entered eternal life on December 4 after a long, painful struggle with dementia. Educated at Clark Technical College in Dayton, she was an Army veteran like her two brothers. She married Michael Walsh in Washington, DC, in 1973 and lived in Virginia Beach until moving to North Carolina in 1988.
Nancy served two terms on the NC State Board of Nursing and retired from the Wake County Health Department in 2009 at 62.
Deacon Mike was assigned to Mother Teresa Parish in February 2018, when we were still a mission church, celebrating Mass at Green Hope HS. He's been on leave the past few years caring for his wife.
Please pray for the repose of her soul. May our prayers give Deacon Mike and his family peace and comfort during this difficult time.
The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed here.
Our Rosary group will lead a Memorial Rosary on Friday, December 8, at 10:30 a.m.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
