In his talk, he will tell his story, share lessons on living your Catholic faith as a leader in a secular culture, and challenge you to change the world around you just as Mother Teresa did.
Mr. Towey chose the title for this book because Mother Teresa said that the most important need of a person was to love and be loved.
"She became a saint not in spite of her humanity but because of it. She was real. Yes, she trusted God before all else. But she also loved chocolate, she cried, she knew darkness, she missed her family and friends. She was no plastic saint."
Mr. Towey headed the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives under George W. Bush. He was president of two Catholic colleges, a U.S. Senate staffer, and head of Florida’s 40,000-employee health and human services agency.
