With heavy hearts and great sadness, we mourn the passing of Monsignor Gerald Lawrence Lewis, a priest of the Diocese of Raleigh for 63 years, who entered eternal life on Dec. 16, 2024, at his home in Raleigh.

"Monsignor Lewis was a faithful friend and benefactor for Mother Teresa Parish," said Father Daniel. "He was with us from the beginning of our 22-year journey. We'll miss his presence and his stories. And I will miss the man who inspired me to become a priest. But I know his spirit will always be with us."
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Dec. 20, at 10 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral in Raleigh.
