The community of St. Matia Mulumba, Uganda, is grateful.
Blessed are you ...
… for providing school lunches,
… for supporting education,
… for giving to pandemic food relief aid,
… for helping the Ugandan poor,
… for caring!
“Rejoice and be glad; your reward will be great in heaven.” (Mt. 16:27)
The St. Matia Mulumba Board sincerely thanks everyone who participated in the November Advent Calendar fundraiser. Through the help of this generous parish, more than $7,000 we raised to assist Ugandan children with much-needed school lunches.
This past year the government cut the education budget in half, and schools are struggling to provide needed supplies and pay teachers’ salaries.
Due to the Ebola outbreak and the need for the district’s lockdown, the third school year term was cut short by two weeks. Schools are expected to open again on Feb. 6, 2023. Your aid for school lunches will be a blessing to these hungry learners as it has been this past year.
Past beneficiaries all expressed gratitude through these seven voices:
“Deeply grateful for this timely assistance.”
“Touched by your compassion.”
“Enormous gratitude.”
“Thanks for the care.”
“Loving you forever and ever and ever.”
“You remain in our hearts and prayers.”
“Accept our thanks. It was ‘Calvary’ attending school without lunch.”
“We profit from this opportunity to renew our heartfelt gratitude for your invaluable and impactful compassion,” said Father Charles Kizito Lugenda. “We wish you a blessed Advent Season.”
