Easter glory and celebrations have never been looked forward to by the Christian community of this sub-parish (of St. Matia Mulumba), St. Charles Lwanga in Nakabimba, Uganda, as much as this year.
Fr. Charles Lugenda excitedly shared pictures of this year's maize harvest. The project was conceived to provide lunches at a lower cost than purchasing maize flour for school children whose families cannot provide lunch.

St. Matia Mulumba Parish has an increasing number of youths who aspire to be priests. They now have 19 more seminarians: four young men in major seminary (four years of education) and 31 in the minor seminary (six years of education).

The first crop from the St. Matia Mulumba Maize Garden has exceeded expectations, providing a bountiful harvest that will feed more schoolchildren than anticipated.
Our sister parish in Uganda, St. Matia Mulumba, has reaped the first harvest from its new 15-acre maize garden. The maize will be milled into flour and also used as animal feed.
The St. Matia Nurse's House was dedicated on June 25, and they've raised enough money to install floors at all sub parishes and plaster the walls at one.
